| Popis líce | The Isle of Wight civic arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a castle flanked by anchors, supported on the dexter by a rearing horse and on the sinister by a sea-horse (hippocampus), with a mural crown as crest above. A scroll beneath the shield bears the motto ALL BEAUTY IS OF GOD. The outer border features a stylised gear-tooth or castellated decorative ring, within which small figures representing islanders appear at the sides.
