Obverse description Central field dominated by the interlaced royal cipher of Christian V, composed of three interwoven C's forming a trefoil-like monogram, surmounted by a royal crown at top. Four crowned shields or armorial devices occupy the cardinal points around the monogram, interspersed with crossed anchors or sceptres in the diagonal quarters. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border, giving the composition a formal, heraldic character typical of late 17th-century Danish coinage.
