| Obverse description | Central bimetallic field depicting a detailed view of the cable-stayed bridge over the Rivière Trois-Pistoles, with the bridge deck, support pylons, and radiating stay cables rendered in high relief against a background of trees. The legend LE PONT HAUBANÉE DE LA RIVIÈRE TROIS-PISTOLES runs around the upper periphery of the gold-toned outer ring, punctuated by a beaded border. The inscription LA ROUTE VERTE appears within the field on the bridge deck, and the lower legend VALEUR DE 3$ EN 2006 is inscribed along the base of the outer ring. |

| Additional information |
Trois-Pistoles issued this three-dollar piece as part of a wave of Canadian municipal currency that flourished in the early 2000s, largely enabled by a legal grey area allowing local governments to produce trade tokens redeemable within their own commercial networks. The Pont Haubanée — a cable-stayed bridge completed in 1998 linking Trois-Pistoles to the south shore of the St. Lawrence — was still a point of local pride at the time of issue, having replaced a seasonal ferry crossing that many residents had used for generations.
