| Obverse description | Bimetallic token with a beaded border on the outer brass ring. The nickel-plated brass centre features the municipal coat of arms of Chandler, depicting a stylized triangular design with industrial and natural motifs including a tree and industrial equipment. The legend 'LA VILLE QUI GRANDIT AVEC VOUS' curves along the upper portion of the inner field, with the city name 'CHANDLER' inscribed in large raised letters across the lower portion of the centre. Chandler's $3 tourist note — issued in coin form by the local CLD development office — was part of a wave of municipal scrip instruments that circulated briefly in Quebec towns during the early 2000s, designed to keep tourist spending within the local economy. Rocher-Percé, the regional county municipality anchoring this issue, takes its name from the famous pierced rock formation offshore at Percé, a point of significant geological and cultural draw for the Gaspésie coast.
