The characters are rendered in a formal, disciplined clerical style characteristic of Northern Song imperial coinage under Emperor Huizong. The coin displays a raised inner rim surrounding the square hole and a broad outer rim, with the field showing the characteristic rough, porous surface typical of cast iron Song dynasty cash. Heavy encrustation and iron oxidation patina are visible across the entire surface. |
