| Obverse description | Draped bust of King Ebana facing right, wearing an elaborate stepped crown ornamented with pellets, the royal effigy centrally positioned and dividing the surrounding legend. Ge'ez and Greek characters appear to the left and right of the bust in the field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of late Aksumite coinage. The facial features are rendered in the schematic, frontal-tending style typical of fifth-century Aksumite royal portraiture. |

| Reverse description | Central voided lozenge with gilded center, set at the intersection of a large cross whose terminals each terminate in small crosslets, forming a cross-crosslet composition. Four additional crosslets occupy the diagonal fields between the arms of the principal cross, and a further ring of Ge'ez legend characters surrounds the entire device. The partial gilding of the lozenge at center is a deliberate monetary convention distinguishing this higher-denomination Aksumite silver issue. The whole is contained within a beaded border. |
