Ge'ez and Greek characters appear to the left and right of the bust in the field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of late Aksumite coinage. The facial features are rendered in the schematic, frontal-tending style typical of fifth-century Aksumite royal portraiture. |

| Popis rubu | Central voided lozenge with gilded center, set at the intersection of a large cross whose terminals each terminate in small crosslets, forming a cross-crosslet composition. Four additional crosslets occupy the diagonal fields between the arms of the principal cross, and a further ring of Ge'ez legend characters surrounds the entire device. The partial gilding of the lozenge at center is a deliberate monetary convention distinguishing this higher-denomination Aksumite silver issue. The whole is contained within a beaded border. |
