| Reverse description | The reverse presents a dynamic typographic composition in which key milestone dates of Bohemian and Czech history are arranged in a radial pattern throughout the silver outer ring, rendered in varying scales of bold raised numerals against a deeply recessed mirror field. The gold centre insert bears the date of EU accession '1.5.2004' flanked by a ring of twelve stars, mirroring the obverse motif. Along the lower arc of the silver ring, the legend 'VSTUP ČESKÉ REPUBLIKY DO EVROPSKÉ UNIE' (Accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union) is inscribed in prominent relief lettering. The engraver's initials 'FZ' appear in the upper field of the silver ring. The overall design conveys a sweeping historical narrative culminating in the moment of European integration. |

The Czech Republic joined the European Union on 1 May 2004, alongside nine other states in the largest single enlargement in the bloc's history. The CNB issued this bimetallic piece specifically to mark that accession, one of several commemoratives produced in the busy period surrounding membership — a politically charged moment given that Czech public support for joining, while ultimately positive in the June 2003 referendum, had been far from unanimous.
The pairing of .9999 gold with a .999 silver ring was a deliberate prestige choice, and mintages for CNB bimetallics of this period were tightly controlled.
