| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central device consists of the Mongolian state emblem (Soyombo symbol) surmounting an ornate cartouche bearing the Cyrillic inscription 'Монгол Банк' (Bank of Mongolia) in stylized script, flanked on either side by vertical Mongolian traditional script characters. Below the cartouche, a decorative lotus petal motif separates the central design from the denomination '250 ТӨГРӨГ' rendered in bold relief in the lower field. The Latin legend 'MONGOLIA 15.5gr 925 SILVER' appears in small characters near the lower rim. The entire design is framed by a serrated inner border with a milled outer edge. |

Part of a twelve-coin zodiac series issued by the Bank of Mongolia beginning in the mid-2000s, each denomination struck in sterling silver with relatively low mintages targeting the international collector market rather than domestic circulation. Mongolia had no particular cultural attachment to the Western zodiac, making these essentially pure numismatic products — commissioned revenue instruments dressed as commemoratives.
