The legend THE TITANIC SINKS arcs across the upper portion of the colored disc in raised lettering, with the date APRIL 15 · 1912 inscribed below the scene in the exergue area. The brass outer ring bears the series inscription A HISTORY OF WORLD SHIPPING along the upper arc, and the issue year 1998 along the lower arc, all separated by raised dot stops.
