正面描述 At center, the Somali Republic coat of arms — featuring two leopards as supporters flanking a quartered shield surmounted by a mural crown — is depicted within a cartouche styled as an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic nameplate. The inscriptions SOMALI REPUBLIC appear above and below the arms within the cartouche, and 250 SHILLINGS is inscribed in a tablet at the base. The date 2008 appears in the lower field below the cartouche, while the circular legend THE TREASURES OF TUTANKHAMUN runs along the outer border. Flanking the central cartouche on both sides are decorative panels featuring Egyptian motifs in relief.

背面描述 A detailed depiction of the Statue of Ptah from the treasures of Tutankhamun, rendered in high relief with selective blue enamel color applied to the cap and broad collar of the figure. The Egyptian deity Ptah is shown in a three-quarter profile view, wearing a tight-fitting blue skullcap and an elaborate broad collar necklace, with a was-scepter visible at the right side. The finely engraved face displays characteristic ancient Egyptian artistic conventions including almond-shaped eyes and stylized features. Decorative Egyptian relief panels flank the central motif on both sides. The legend STATUE OF PTAH appears in two lines in the lower field.

附加信息

Somalia's numismatic output in the 2000s was largely the product of licensed foreign distributors — the Somali government itself had no functional mint and minimal oversight of what was issued in its name. This Tutankhamun series has no meaningful connection to Somalia as a nation, and the "250 Shillings" denomination was never a circulating value in any Somali monetary system. Gold-plated copper-nickel marketed as a collectible rather than currency.
