(Translation: 250 Lighthouse Amsterdam 25 July 1985 Secretary President The Dutch Bank Two Hundred and Fifty Gulden)
Reverse description Violet on multicolour underprint in a boldly geometric, modernist composition divided into a grid of rectangular and triangular panels, each filled with abstract colour fields, fine guilloche patterns, and cartographic vignettes including an outline map of the Netherlands. A red-and-white striped lighthouse vignette is placed at centre right, and the denomination numeral '250' appears in large intaglio print at both upper right and lower left. A colour-calibration strip in the upper left panel reflects the note's avant-garde graphic design by Oxenaar.
