The upper portion of the field bears the legend NAPOLEON BONAPARTE / 1769 - 1821 arched across the crown of the hat, with the date 2021 to the left and the fineness mark 5 OZ / AG 999 to the right. At centre, the circular arms of the Republic of Djibouti are displayed within a beaded border, featuring two crossed spears and a shield supported by laurel branches, with the legend REPUBLIQUE DE DJIBOUTI and the denomination 250 FRANCS below.
