| Obverse description | The obverse of this rectangular gold bar-coin displays the national coat of arms of Senegal in high relief at center, featuring a quartered shield bearing a lion rampant and a baobab tree, flanked symmetrically by two olive branches. A five-pointed star surmounts the shield, while a decorative medal or order device appears below. The national motto is inscribed on a scroll across the shield reading UN PEUPLE UN BUT UNE FOI. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE DU SÉNÉGAL arcs above the design in the upper field, and the denomination 250 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in the lower field.
