| Mô tả mặt trước | The octagonal obverse bears the Arabic denomination '٢٥٠ فلسا' (250 Fils) in bold numerals at centre field, with the FAO emblem — a circular device incorporating wheat ears and the letters 'FAO' — positioned directly below. Two ornamental arabesque rosette devices flank the FAO emblem in the left and right fields respectively. The legend 'الجمهورية العراقية' (Republic of Iraq) arcs along the upper periphery, while 'يوم الأغذية العالمي' (World Food Day) runs along the lower margin. A continuous denticled border follows the full octagonal perimeter. |

Above the central device, the Quranic inscription 'وجعلنا من الماء كل شئ حى' (We made from water every living thing — Holy Quran) arcs across the upper field. The dual date '١٤٠١هـ ١٩٨١م' recording both the Hijri and Gregorian years of issue appears adjacent to the central medallion, while 'سد الموصل' (Mosul Dam) is inscribed below. A uniform denticled border frames the entire design consistent with the octagonal form of the obverse. |
