Obverse description The octagonal obverse bears the Arabic denomination '٢٥٠ فلسا' (250 Fils) in bold numerals at centre field, with the FAO emblem — a circular device incorporating wheat ears and the letters 'FAO' — positioned directly below. Two ornamental arabesque rosette devices flank the FAO emblem in the left and right fields respectively. The legend 'الجمهورية العراقية' (Republic of Iraq) arcs along the upper periphery, while 'يوم الأغذية العالمي' (World Food Day) runs along the lower margin. A continuous denticled border follows the full octagonal perimeter.
