| Obverse description | Central raised circle containing the denomination '250' above the Arabic word 'فلسا' (Fils), all within a plain ring. Surrounding the central circle, the field is filled with a continuous Arabic legend arranged in circular fashion reading 'الجمهورية العراقية' (Republic of Iraq) above and the commemorative inscription '١٩٤٧-١٩٧٢ اليوبيل الفضي للبنك المركزي العراقي' (1947–1972 Silver Jubilee of the Central Bank of Iraq) below.
