Reverse description Large, detailed portrait bust of Wenceslaus IV (Václav IV), King of Bohemia, facing three-quarters to the right, wearing an elaborate crown and rendered in a Gothic artistic style evoking medieval portraiture. To the right of the portrait, a kingfisher perches upon a knotted ribbon and rose motif — the personal emblem of the king — with the engraver's monogram JB (Jiří Bříza) visible at lower right. The birth and death years 1361 and 1419 are inscribed below the portrait in two lines. The arc legend along the lower rim reads VÁCLAV IV. 100 DUKÁT, identifying the subject and the denomination in Czech.
