Charles III Pribina — Karol III Pribina in Slovak — was the first documented Slavic prince, ruling the Principality of Nitra in the early ninth century. His baptism around 833 AD, conducted under the supervision of Archbishop Adalram of Salzburg, is among the earliest recorded Christianization events in Central European history. The date is debated; some sources place it earlier, at Traismauer.
