The denomination 250, followed by its Arabic equivalent مائتان وخمسون درهماً, is inscribed in the lower central field. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 10 December 1948, with Morocco among the original signatories — though the country was still under French and Spanish protectorate administration at the time, represented by France rather than as a sovereign state. Full Moroccan independence came only in 1956. The 75th anniversary issue invites an awkward historical footnote that most official commemoratives quietly sidestep.
