The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 10 December 1948, with Morocco among the original signatories — though the country was still under French and Spanish protectorate administration at the time, represented by France rather than as a sovereign state. Full Moroccan independence came only in 1956. The 75th anniversary issue invites an awkward historical footnote that most official commemoratives quietly sidestep.
