| 裏面の説明 | The reverse commemorates the Ossetian poet and literary scholar Nafi Djoussoïty (1925–2017), depicting his bust in left-facing profile relief set within a circular medallion to the left of the field. At centre, a vertically oriented torch with a coloured red-and-orange enamelled flame rises from the lower field, symbolising enlightenment and cultural heritage. To the right, a lyre encircled by a laurel wreath represents his literary contribution, flanked by the dates '1925' and '2017' denoting his birth and death years. The name 'НАФИ' appears in bold raised lettering at the top of the field, and 'ДЖУСОЙТЫ' is inscribed along the lower arc. The background is a polished black field with a textured surround at the upper and lower margins. |

South Ossetia has no internationally recognized central bank with autonomous monetary authority — the territory uses the Russian ruble and has done so since the early 2000s. The "National Bank of South Ossetia" issues coins of this type purely as collectibles, with no legal tender function in any jurisdiction that most states recognize. These pieces are produced by private mints on contract and sold directly to the numismatic market.
