Beschrijving voorzijde Central device depicts a detailed high-relief rendering of a section of the Great Wall of China, featuring a prominent watchtower with crenellated battlements rising above tiered stone walls, with rocky terrain and vegetation at the base. The Chinese legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs around the upper periphery of the mirror-polished field in Chinese characters. The date 1993 appears in the lower exergue in Roman numerals, set against a deeply frosted background contrasting with the reflective field.

Aanvullende informatie

China's platinum bullion program of the late 1980s and early 1990s occupied an awkward commercial position — priced above gold equivalents but lacking the collector base of the Panda series, demand was never strong enough to justify consistent annual production. The 1993 issues were among the last before the series was effectively abandoned, making surviving examples scarcer than their original mintage figures might suggest simply because so few dealers bothered to stock them at the time.
