| 正面铭文 | SIRI HAIWAN TERANCAM BURUNG IRIS 2004 25 SEN BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA |
| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts a finely engraved naturalistic scene of two Crested Wood Partridges (Rollulus roulroul) in a woodland setting; the standing bird to the left displays its distinctive fan-shaped red crest and detailed plumage in high relief, while a second bird is shown in a resting posture to the right, both rendered with careful attention to feather texture. The legend 'ENDANGERED SPECIES SERIES' arcs along the upper border. The English common name 'CRESTED WOOD PARTRIDGE', the Malay name 'SIUL BERJAMBUL', and the binomial scientific name 'ROLLULUS ROULROUL' are inscribed along the lower periphery. |

Part of Bank Negara's wildlife conservation series, this issue appeared during the reign of Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, who ascended in late 2001. Nordic Gold — the same copper-aluminum-zinc-tin alloy used in Euro 10, 20, and 50 cent coins — was adopted for this series largely because it resists corrosion in Malaysia's humid tropical climate while maintaining a stable gold-like appearance without the cost implications of brass.
The Crested Wood Partridge, native to lowland forests of the Malay Peninsula and Borneo, was already under pressure from deforestation by the time this coin circulated.
