| Obverse description | A boldly rendered right-facing lion's head in high relief fills the obverse field, its flowing mane rendered in sweeping, stylized lines radiating outward to the rim. The lion's mouth is open in a roar, with fine whiskers incised in detail. Above the lion's head, a curved Ge'ez legend arcs along the upper rim, while an additional Ge'ez inscription appears along the lower rim. The dynamic, sculptural design is characteristic of the engraving style of Stuart Devlin. |
