| Obverse description | The arms of the Republic of Seychelles are centrally depicted, featuring a shield bearing a palm tree, a tortoise, and a sailing vessel beneath a mountainous landscape, supported by two swordfish flanking a central crest with a white-tailed tropicbird atop the shield. A ribbon scroll below the arms bears the Latin motto FINIS CORONAT OPUS. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES runs along the upper periphery, with the date 1997 inscribed at the bottom of the field.
