| Obverse description | Central device depicting the royal cipher or emblem of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah, rendered in fine relief against a flat field. The emblem is flanked by stylised crossed kukri blades below. A circular Devanagari legend surrounds the central device along the upper periphery, giving the king's name and title. The lower portion of the field bears the Devanagari inscription 'Nepal' followed by the Bikram Sambat date 2041, separated by a dash. The entire design is bordered by a ring of raised beads. |
