| Obverse description | Cheque-format emergency issue printed in black on plain paper with a simple decorative border. The heading reads ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫЙ БАНКЪ (State Bank) in large Cyrillic capitals, below which the issuing branch — Житомирское Отделение (Zhytomyr Branch) — and the Волынская Губернская Земская Касса Мелкого Кредита are named. The denomination двадцать пять рублей (twenty-five roubles) is hand-typed and also appears as Р. 25 in the upper right, with a manuscript date of 26 Марта 1918 г. and a violet official stamp at lower left alongside a manuscript signature of the board member. |
