| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a finely detailed panoramic view of the Zheltovodsky Makaryev Convent of the Holy Trinity, rendered in frosted relief against a mirror-polished proof field. The monastic complex is depicted in its riverside setting, with its characteristic ensemble of white-walled churches, onion domes crowned with crosses, a tall bell tower, and crenellated defensive walls faithfully reproduced. The lower half of the field shows a striking mirror reflection of the monastery's silhouette on the polished surface, evoking the waters of the Volga River. The arc legend СВЯТО-ТРОИЦКИЙ МАКАРЬЕВСКИЙ ЖЕЛТОВОДСКИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ (ZHELTOVODSKY MAKARYEV CONVENT OF THE HOLY TRINITY) curves along the upper rim, while НИЖЕГОРОДСКАЯ ОБЛАСТЬ (NIZHNY NOVGOROD REGION) is inscribed in two lines across the lower field. |

The Makaryev Monastery, perched on the Volga's left bank in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, was founded in the 15th century by the monk Makary of Zheltovodsk, who established it on the site of his earlier hermitage before Tatar raids destroyed the original settlement in 1439. The complex was rebuilt and rose to commercial prominence as the host of the Makaryev Fair, once one of the largest trade fairs in all of Russia, before that fair relocated to Nizhny Novgorod itself in 1817 following a catastrophic fire.
The convent function dates to 1868, when the monastery was formally re-established as a women's institution.
