Beschrijving voorzijde The Russian State Coat of Arms — a double-headed eagle with three imperial crowns, holding a sceptre in its right talon and an orb in its left, with a shield depicting St. George slaying the dragon on its breast — is displayed prominently in the center of the field. The circular legend РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ (Russian Federation) arcs along the upper periphery in Cyrillic characters, flanked by decorative lozenge ornaments. The denomination 25 РУБЛЕЙ and the date 2013 г. are inscribed in two lines below the central device. The Saint Petersburg Mint mark (СПМД) appears in small relief to the lower right of the eagle.

Aanvullende informatie

Russia's 2014 Sochi Winter Paralympics organizing committee selected the Ray of Light and the Snowflake as official mascots through a public vote in 2011 — an unusual democratization of what had typically been an internal IOC process. The colored version of this issue was struck alongside a non-colored variant, both part of a sprawling multi-year commemorative program the Bank of Russia began issuing in 2011 in the run-up to Sochi, eventually encompassing dozens of distinct types across multiple denominations and compositions.
