Comments

In the chaos following the Russian Civil War's eastward collapse, the Vladivostok branch of the State Bank issued its own notes when supply lines from Moscow and Omsk became untenable. This 25 Rouble note belongs to a series produced locally under Japanese occupation of the Maritime Province — a situation that made the very existence of a functioning Russian state institution in Vladivostok politically awkward for all parties involved.

Local printing meant inconsistent quality control, and the S1255B designation distinguishes a specific signature or control variant within what was otherwise a small, hurried emission. The Far Eastern Republic absorbed most of these issues into its own monetary apparatus within two years.
