The lower two-thirds of the reverse are dominated by a color-enameled reproduction of Tintoretto's painting 'The Birth of John the Baptist,' showing the Virgin Mary and attendant figures tending to the newborn, rendered in vivid polychrome enamel including red, blue, and gold tones.
