| Obverse description | The national arms of the Yemen Arab Republic—a spread eagle displayed, holding crossed janbiya daggers and a coffee branch, with a shield on its breast—are depicted centrally within a beaded rounded-square inner border. The Arabic legend of the republic’s name arcs around the upper portion of the rounded square, with the denomination خ٢٥ ريالًا inscribed above the eagle.
