The central medallion is surrounded by a raised circular border with small dot embellishments and trefoil ornaments at the cardinal points. The Arabic legend 'الدولة السورية' (Al-Dawla Al-Suriyya, meaning 'The Syrian State') curves along the upper portion of the coin within a beaded inner border, with a five-pointed star at the apex. The dual date '1929' in Western numerals and '١٣٤٨' in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals appears along the lower arc within the same border. The outer rim features a continuous band of incuse triangular denticles. |
