| Obverse description | Central field features the Sudanese national emblem, comprising a secretary bird with wings displayed, perched upon and grasping a shield, with a scroll below bearing the Arabic legend for the Democratic Republic of Sudan. The denomination appears in both Arabic numerals (٢٥) to the lower left and Latin numerals (L.S. 25) to the lower right of the central device. A broad Arabic commemorative legend arcs across the upper field, with the Latin inscriptions 'SUDAN' and '1979' appearing along the lower exergual area, flanked by the date in Arabic numerals (١٩٧٩), and the legend 'ISLAMIC WORLD 15TH CENTURY' curves along the bottom rim. The entire design is contained within a beaded border. |
