Staßfurt's notgeld issues of 1921 came out of a municipality better known for its potash mining industry than its civic administration, and the Magistrat's reliance on J. P. Himmer in Augsburg — a printer with a long commercial history well outside the immediate region — was entirely typical of the notgeld boom, when local authorities simply contracted whoever could deliver quickly and cheaply at volume.
The DeNG 2#1256.2 reference distinguishes this as a specific variant within the Staßfurt series; collectors should note that minor typographic and color variations exist across the 1256 group, and the suffix matters when establishing which issue you have. Signatures of Lohmann and Zeipel authenticate municipal authorization.
