Prisoner-of-war camp scrip issued under the administrative authority of the III. Army Corps inspectorate, which oversaw multiple camps across its district — Brandenburg an der Havel being among the larger facilities, holding primarily Russian and later Romanian prisoners during the war's middle years. These internal currencies were a pragmatic response to Reich directives discouraging the circulation of official coinage inside camps, both to prevent hoarding and to contain spending to canteen goods under German control.
Ambrosius & Co. in Kirchhain produced scrip for several camp inspectorates, making their work fairly well distributed across this category. The Waldhausen signature identifies the issuing inspecteur; the adjutant countersignature remains unattributed in the literature.
