The heading 'Notgeld der Gemeinde' appears in Gothic blackletter script at the top, with 'Egenbüttel' in large bold blackletter below, and the sub-legend 'Com. Amtsbezirk Pinneberg' in smaller script beneath. At the centre, a vignette of a solitary tree set within a red diamond cartouche forms the focal point, flanked on either side by the denomination '25 Pfg.' in bold red numerals.
