| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in red and grey on white paper, with a decorative border of zigzag and parallel-line frames along all four edges. The heading 'Notgeld der Gemeinde' appears in Gothic blackletter script at the top, with 'Egenbüttel' in large bold blackletter below, and the sub-legend 'Com.
