| Obverse description | Tan-coloured Notgeld note with a rust-red border frame, carrying the heading 'Notgeld der Stadt Weimar' in Gothic script above the denomination 'Fünfundzwanzig Pfennig' in red. A central oval vignette encloses the Weimar municipal coat of arms — a rampant lion within a wreath — flanked by four circular silhouette portraits in the corners, identified as Goethe (upper left), Schiller (upper right), Herder (lower left), and Wieland (lower right). Poetic quotations attributed to Goethe and Schiller appear on either side of the central vignette, with the issuing authority text, date 'Weimar 1. März 1921', facsimile signatures of the Oberbürgermeister and the Gemeinderatsvorsitzender, and a printed serial number at the foot. |
