| Obverse description | The obverse is set within a decorative wavy border with scalloped edges rendered in black and red. At the top, the denomination legend in Gothic blackletter script reads "Fünf und zwanzig Pfennig" above the issuer name "SCHWEFELBAD TENNSTEDT i/Th.". At centre, a heraldic shield vignette portrays a mitred bishop figure alongside a rampant lion, flanked on either side by large red numeral "25" denominators. Below the vignette, a redemption clause in Gothic script is followed by two manuscript signatures above the legend "Der Magistrat:", with the printer's imprint "GERHARD STALLING OLDENBURG" at the foot. |
