| Description du revers | The reverse is executed in olive-green and brown, with a broad central vignette presenting a panoramic view of the Staßfurt townscape, dominated by a medieval round tower at left and a church spire at right, set amid rooftops and trees rendered in fine line engraving. Narrow side panels at both left and right carry the city coat of arms below crossed mining hammers and the miner's greeting "Glück auf", alluding to the town's identity as a centre of potash mining. The lower margin bears the date "Staßfurt, den 1. Staßfurt, a town in Saxony-Anhalt, sits atop one of the richest potash salt deposits in Europe — a fact that fueled its industrial growth and made it an unlikely issuer of Notgeld during the inflationary chaos that swept German municipalities in 1921. Like hundreds of other German towns, Staßfurt stepped in to fill the gap left by a central banking system overwhelmed by coin shortages and accelerating price instability.
J. P. Himmer of Augsburg was a prolific Notgeld printer, handling commissions from municipalities across southern and central Germany during this period. The reference DeNG 2#1256.1 suggests this is the first catalogued type in the Staßfurt series.
