Kölln-Reisiek is a small municipality in Schleswig-Holstein, and its decision to issue Notgeld in 1921 places this note in the tail end of the first major German emergency currency wave — by that point hundreds of German municipalities had already been doing this for two to three years, flooding the market with locally-printed small denomination paper as coinage disappeared from circulation. Konrad Hanf in Hamburg handled a significant volume of northern German municipal Notgeld printing during this period, working for numerous small issuers across Schleswig-Holstein.
The DeNG reference suffix "2/6" indicates this is the second of six known varieties in the 0715.1a sequence.
