To the right stands an intaglio-style vignette of Jan von Werth, the celebrated Cologne cavalry general, in period armour and cloak, his name inscribed below. A dark brown ornamental border frames the note, with the denomination numeral "25" repeated in each corner cartouche; "STADT KÖLN 1921" appears in the top and bottom border bands.
