The central panel, bordered by an ornate green Art Nouveau cartouche, bears the place name and a descriptive text in Gothic script identifying Langenaltheim as a locality in Bavaria and the site of lithographic stone and numerous fossil finds. The right panel presents a vignette of a quarry or rocky outcrop with a fossil embedded in the foreground stone and a settlement visible on the horizon. |
