| Descrizione del dritto | Printed in red and blue on cream paper, the obverse carries the Gothic-script heading "Notgeld der Stadt Neustadt O/S" across the upper margin, with the bold red outlined numeral "25" at the left flanked by the city coat of arms — a battlemented tower above a spread eagle on a shield, rendered in blue and red. To the right, the denomination "Fünfundzwanzig Pfennig" is set in large decorative red Gothic script, beneath which the issue date "Neustadt O/S, den 1. August 1920" and the authority line "Der Magistrat" with a facsimile signature appear. A validity clause in small Gothic text occupies the lower margin, with the printer's imprint "Flemming-Wiskott A.-G. Glogau" at the foot. |

Neustadt in Upper Silesia — today Prudnik, Poland — issued this Notgeld in 1920 under extraordinary circumstances: the region was under Allied occupation and awaiting the plebiscite of March 1921 that would decide whether it joined Germany or the newly reconstituted Polish state. Municipal scrip like this filled the gap left by acute small-change shortages during the occupation period, with local authorities acting more or less autonomously to keep commerce functional.
Carl Flemming & Wiskott in Glogau printed enormous quantities of Notgeld for small issuers across Silesia during this period. The Gra#N30.4b designation indicates this is one of multiple variants within the Neustadt issue — differences typically lie in paper stock or serial numbering rather than plate changes.
