Beschrijving voorzijde The central text panel carries the voucher text dated 'Einbeck, den 20. Dezember 1920', with two facsimile signatures below — those of the Bürgermeister and the Bürgervorsteher-Kollegium. To the left, an arch-framed vignette portrays a scholar at a desk surrounded by books, a skull and crossbones, and a scroll inscribed 'Morphium', alluding to Friedrich Sertürner's discovery of morphine in Einbeck; to the right, a corresponding arched vignette shows a historical figure seated at a table with trophy vessels and a barrel. A banner scroll at the foot reads 'Sertürner erfand hier das Morphium' on the left and 'Und da sagt man, das Bier macht dumm' on the right, flanking a blank serial number reserve rectangle at center.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse is divided into three vertical panels above a banner scroll. The left panel carries a line-engraved townscape of a medieval Einbeck building with half-timbered rooflines and foliage; the central panel presents a stylised floral or thistle-like ornamental vignette above the crowned municipal coat of arms of Einbeck bearing the letter 'E'; the right panel shows a view of a domed church tower amid trees. The lower scroll banner bears the issue inscription in bold Gothic lettering.

Opmerkingen

Einbeck's notgeld program drew on the town's deep association with bockbier — the strong lager style whose very name is a corruption of "Einbeck" as filtered through Low German and Bavarian pronunciation. The town leaned hard into that identity across its notgeld series, making the municipal small-change notes among the more thematically coherent of the thousands of German city issues flooding the market in 1920.

Gebrüder Jänecke was a well-established Hanover printing house with a long track record in commercial and municipal print work. Their notgeld output for multiple Lower Saxon issuers during the 1920–1921 emergency period was technically consistent if not always distinctive.
