Obverse description Black letterpress print on orange underprint; the Mexican coat of arms appears as a vignette at left. The issuer title "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" is inscribed across the upper portion, with the obligation text and face value "$ 25.00 (VEINTICINCO PESOS)" centered in the body of the note, flanked by numeral value counters in all four corners. Two manuscript signatures with printed titles occupy the lower center and right, above the issuing location and date "México, julio 25 de 1914," with the printer imprint at the foot of the note; red overprinted serial number in five digits appears at upper right.

Provisional Obligation of the Federal Treasury
The Treasury of the Federation will pay the bearer $ 25.00 (Twenty Five Pesos)
This obligation is guaranteed with Federal Treasury bonds redeemable in Mexican gold, 6%-1914-10 years, for an amount equal to its value, in accordance with the Decree of the 6th of the current month, and will be redeemable in the terms that said Decree provides.
