| 表面の銘文 | QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND · TWENTY FIVE PENCE · |
| 裏面の説明 | The shield of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, displaying three golden leopards passant guardant arranged vertically on a red field, occupies the central field. A sprig of foliage surmounts the shield as a crest. The date '19 78' flanks the shield to the left and right respectively. The circular legend 'BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY' arches around the upper periphery, while '· ROYAL VISIT ·' curves along the lower periphery, all within a beaded border, the deeply mirrored proof fields lending strong contrast to the frosted device. |

Guernsey issued this coin to mark the Queen's visit to the island in 1978, one of several Channel Island royal visit pieces struck in the late 1970s as the islands leveraged their Crown Dependency status to produce collectible proof issues largely aimed at overseas buyers. The broader programme was frankly more commercial than ceremonial — the States of Guernsey had recognised by the mid-1970s that limited-edition silver proofs generated reliable revenue with minimal monetary risk.
The 28.28g specification mirrors the standard adopted across Commonwealth commemorative coinage of the period, allowing shared planchet sourcing with other issuing authorities.
