Descrizione del dritto	This side represents the host coin's obverse: a draped bust of Carlos II of Spain facing right, with the legend partially visible around the periphery. A British countermark bearing the value '25' was applied to authorize the coin for circulation in the Ionian Islands. The legend reads CAROLVS II D G REX HISP, identifying the original issuer as Charles II, King of Spain, by the grace of God. The portrait displays the characteristic draped and armored style typical of late 17th-century Spanish royal coinage. Wear and the applied countermark partially obscure elements of the original design.

Descrizione del rovescio	The reverse of the host Naples Carlino (Tarì) of 1688 displays the crowned quartered arms of Spain and the Two Sicilies, featuring the heraldic devices of Castile, León, Aragon, and Jerusalem within a baroque shield surmounted by an open royal crown. The legend surrounding the shield references the kingdoms of the Two Sicilies and Jerusalem. The date 1688 appears in the lower field divided by the shield. The entire reverse design is characteristic of Spanish-Neapolitan regal coinage of the late 17th century.
